The Taming of the Shrew (4.3)
Shrew is a one woman adaptation of The Taming of the Shrew that explores the complicated process of forming a female identity in today’s world. Being a woman, from the moment you are born the forces around you are on a mission to tame you, to teach you your place. This was true in Shakespeare’s time and unfortunately is still true today. In this adaptation a woman embodies these forces and she takes us, using Kate’s story, through the journey every woman goes through in her life.

90 minutes Original Adaptation
This is a story about a system that allows certain men to gain power despite all warning signs and which is ultimately defeated by the unleashing of women’s voices and the revolution of the next generation.
In this production we explored in what way the cast’s personal experience in the world met the words in yet another way; together, we discovered what the story means for each of us, both separately and as a team.
We invited our audience to be curious about what the story means to them, how it reflects their world, and to examine their relationship to systems of power.
